Tri-County Electric donation helps provide scholarships for local students at North Florida Community College

MADISON, FL – Tri-County Electric Cooperative has made a generous donation of $2,500 to the North Florida Community College Foundation to help fund education scholarships for NFCC students. The donation continues a long-time partnership between the two institutions and benefits local students and families served by Tri-County Electric and NFCC.

"It is an honor to continue our partnership with NFCC and support education for our members in this community," said Julius Hackett, Tri-County Electric Cooperative CEO.

The donation was made possible through Tri-County Electric’s Energizing Education Program in which Tri-County Electric members elect to have their monthly statement rounded up to the next dollar and those cents set aside to fund education scholarships for high school seniors and nontraditional undergraduate students at accredited Florida colleges and universities. The Tri-County Electric Scholarship at NFCC provides education support for qualified members and their families in Jefferson, Madison and Taylor Counties and awards up to a $1,000 scholarship annually.

“Tri-County Electric is a valued partner in education and a long-time supporter of the College and scholarships for local students,” said Dr. Cheryl S. James, Executive Director of Development and External Affairs. “This donation is another great example of a community business giving back to our community.”

Tri-County Electric provides electric service to just over 12,500 residential, commercial and industrial members in Taylor, Madison and Jefferson County. Members can contribute to the Energizing Education Program by contacting a TCEC Member Service Representative at 850-973-2285.
