NFC Office of Dual Enrollment Recognizes Jessica Hasty as April 2022 Student of the Month
MADISON, FL (April 5, 2022) - The North Florida College Office of Dual Enrollment features a Student of the Month during NFC's spring and fall terms to bring attention to the outstanding students in our district that dual enroll in college courses during their high school years.
Madison County High School student Jessica Hasty is the NFC Office of Dual Enrollment's Student of the Month for April 2022. She is currently working toward an Associate in Arts (AA) degree at NFC and is set to graduate this May. According to Hasty, NFC's dual enrollment program is helping her build a strong educational foundation for her ultimate goal of becoming a doctor.
"I think NFC was the best college for me to obtain my AA degree because of the great instructors, the flexibility of scheduling, and the supportive environment," said Hasty. "When I initially decided to dual enroll, I knew I would need to be determined and that the journey would not be easy. I have had to balance being a high school student, a dual enrollment student , a three sport athlete, working part time, and being involved in my community and church. NFC has laid the foundation as I embark through medical school."
Hasty says her favorite class at NFC has been fundamentals of speech, "I've used what I have learned to compete in various speaking events. The knowledge and skills learned will definitely be used for years to come."
She also says that Mary Frances Mauldin, NFC Dual Enrollment Coordinator, inspired and encouraged her during her NFC journey. "Mrs. Mauldin has inspired me in such a way she may not even know she has. Being young in high school can have challenges along with fear and many unknowns. She always greeted me with a smile and helping hand, helped to ease the fears and challenges that I may have faced, and motivated me to reach my fullest potential. I will forever be grateful for her dedication to dual enrollment success."
