NFCC Welcomes High School Seniors for College Preview Day

North Florida Community College welcomed high school seniors from across its six-county service district to the NFCC campus for College Preview Day Saturday, October 20.

Prospective students and their families were welcomed by NFCC President John Grosskopf. Guest speaker Zackery Peterson, an NFCC alumnus and 2018 Student of the Year, then shared a few inspiring words with the crowd highlighting the support and guidance he received during his time as an NFCC student.

"NFCC is the stepping stone to prepare you for a major university,” said Peterson. “While you are here, I encourage you to search in your heart for what you would like to do and what you are interested in."

Afterward, students and their guests attended interest-focused breakout sessions led by NFCC instructors, campus tours and The Cost of College, a special financial aid workshop led by NFCC’s Administrative Services and Financial Aid department. The morning concluded with the opportunity for students and their guests to enjoy lunch with NFCC faculty and advisors.

"College Preview Day was highly successful and provided an excellent opportunity for high school seniors beginning their college search to learn about our programs and offerings while connecting with NFCC faculty and staff," said Kay Hogan, NFCC Dean of Enrollment and Student Services. "I would like to thank all those who attended and hope they continue to consider NFCC as the next step in their educational journey."
