NFC Foundation Celebrates Last Mile Graduates
MADISON, FL (August 30, 2022) – The NFC Foundation celebrates five Last Mile Scholars and their recent graduation from North Florida College.
Madison County residents Elizabeth Davis, April Herring, and Kayla Kinsey, and Suwannee County residents Traci Osborn and Joshua Ragans graduated with their Associate in Arts degree.
At the NFC Foundation, we understand that it can be challenging to complete even one class after having your education interrupted by work or family, but in less than three years, we have helped 40 students cross the finish line and complete their degrees at NFC. After earning their degree or certificate at NFC, these students are empowered to reach their next goal, whether that be financial security, higher education, or a change in career.
Elizabeth plans to continue her education at NFC by enrolling in the Medical Information Coder/Biller program. “It has taken me several years to complete the AA degree because of work, having children, and other obstacles, but the supportive staff at NFC offered me the Last Mile scholarship and gave me the push I needed to get it complete,” said Elizabeth. “I am very proud of my accomplishment.”
With her new degree, Traci plans to continue helping people at her job in the Florida Department of Corrections. “This scholarship has helped me focus on my goal of continuing my education,” said Traci.
April is unsure what the future holds at this time but is grateful for the Last Mile program which allowed her to finish the last class needed to earn a degree. She is empowered to explore her options with a degree to support her passions.
