NFC Students Jenna Davis and Makayla Walker Named to 2023 All-Florida Academic Team
MADISON, FL (April 18, 2023) – North Florida College students Jenna Davis and Makayla Walker have been named to the 2023 All-Florida Academic Team. This prestigious designation recognizes student Phi Theta Kappa members within the Florida College System for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service to the community. Students are nominated by their respective colleges to the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. This year’s team of 150 students were recognized at an awards ceremony in Orlando, Florida on March 31, 2023.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 nations, with approximately 240,000 active members in the nation’s colleges. Learn more at www.ptk.org.
Jenna Davis
Jenna Davis is a graduate of Taylor County High School. She will complete her Associate in Arts degree in December 2023. Davis plans to further her education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University studying Pharmacy.
“PTK has taught me that when you work hard you are rewarded,” stated Davis. “And, when you help others, it makes your heart happy.”
Makayla Walker
Makayla Walker is a graduate from Aucilla Christian Academy in Jefferson County. She completed her Associate in Arts degree in Fall 2022 and is a recently admitted student to Florida State University, where she plans to become a Registered Nurse.
“My time in PTK has allowed me to deepen my love for community service,” stated Walker. “I am so thankful to NFC and PTK for allowing me to be a part of this incredible opportunity.”
