New speaker series invites scholars to campus
MADISON, FL - North Florida Community College’s Fine Arts Auditorium was full Oct. 3, 2018 for the college’s first Sentinel Talk presentation. Guest speaker Dr. Deana Rohlinger, Professor of Sociology at Florida State University, shared a presentation entitled “Democracy in the Digital Age.” Dr. Rohlinger focused on the importance of educating oneself about political issues and how engaging one another in civil conversation is a powerful communication tool. She also covered relevant topics such as social media’s influence on partisanship.
NFCC faculty and administration plan to continue the speaker series with a focus on relevant topics and education next term.
