NFC OFFERS TWO FREE WORKSHOPS FOCUSED ON MANUFACTURING
Explore Basic Machining or 3D Design at no-cost NFC workshops to be held in February and March
MADISON, FL (Jan. 7, 2022) - The North Florida College Career and Workforce Education Center offers a variety of career-based training options for those looking to explore a new career, update existing skills and successfully enter the workforce. To help individuals explore the field of manufacturing and production technology, NFC is offering two free community workshops, one in basic machining and one in 3D design and printing. However, space is limited to 12 participants in each workshop session, so those interested are encouraged to register early. Introduction to Basic Machining - Feb. 7-10, 2022
NFC is offering a FREE non-credit workshop entitled "Introduction to Basic Machining" for anyone, ages 16 and above, who may be interested in learning the basics of machining. The workshop will be Monday-Thursday, Feb. 7-10 in NFC's Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology training lab. Participants can choose to attend from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 5-8 p.m. This hands-on workshop introducing participants to the basics of machining including measuring, reading blueprints, safety, precision, part tolerance, tools and common shop equipment. Introduction to 3D Design - March 14-17, 2022
NFC is offering a FREE non-credit workshop entitled "Introduction to 3D Design" for anyone, ages 16 and above, who may be interested in learning the basics of 3D design and printing. The workshop will be Monday-Thursday, March 14-17 in NFC's Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology training lab. Participants can choose to attend from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 5-8 p.m. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to Solidworks 3D design software, basic 3D printer dos and don'ts, material selection and more. Participants will get to make a 3D printed item during this workshop to take home. Register now at www.nfc.edu/career-workforce-workshops.
These career-based community workshops have a 12-person limit per time slot and are free to the first 12 participants to register. Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate. Anyone under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian's permission.
